Failed Payment

A failed payment means that the system was unable to charge your selected payment method for the subscription. This can happen for several reasons (for example, an expired card, insufficient funds, or a bank decline).

What happens when a payment fails

When a payment fails:

  • your subscription is marked as payment issue,
  • access to the platform is temporarily restricted until payment is resolved,
  • a warning is displayed in the Subscription section.

Audienced uses Stripe Billing, which automatically retries failed payments according to its retry rules.

Common reasons for failed payments

  • expired or canceled card,
  • insufficient funds,
  • bank restrictions or declined transaction,
  • temporary technical issues with the payment processor.

How to fix a failed payment

  1. Go to Subscription in the admin dashboard.
  2. Review the failed payment warning.
  3. Click Add payment method or Update payment method.
  4. Enter valid credit card details.
  5. If needed, also verify your billing details.

Once the payment method is updated, the system will attempt to process the payment again.

Will I lose my data or content?

No.
In case of a failed payment:

  • your data, content, and settings remain stored,
  • the issue only affects access and billing.

Once payment is successful, full access is automatically restored.

What if the payment is not resolved in time?

If a failed payment is not resolved:

  • the subscription may be temporarily paused,
  • access to the platform may be locked until payment is completed.

To continue using Audienced, a valid payment method must be added.

Notifications

When a payment fails:

  • you receive an email notification,
  • a warning is also shown in the dashboard.

We recommend always having an active and valid payment method on file.

Summary

  • a failed payment means the charge was unsuccessful,
  • the most common cause is an issue with the card or bank,
  • the solution is updating the payment method,
  • no data is deleted,
  • access is restored after successful payment.
