Bulk User Import

Sample file

Bulk user import allows you to quickly and easily add a large number of users at once using a .csv file.
For a successful import, you need a properly structured .csv spreadsheet. You can download a sample file from the main menu in the admin dashboard by clicking Users > Import users > Sample file.

To download the sample file, go to:

  1. Users
  2. Import users – click the second button in the top-left above the users table
  3. A pop-up opens with a file upload field. Below it, you’ll find a link to the instructions and the sample file.
  4. Click Download here under Sample file – Download sample .csv. The sample file will open in a new window.

Save a copy of the sample file

The file that opens in a new window is view-only. Therefore, you first need to save it as an .xlsx document that you can edit in Excel or Google Sheets. Once you have your own copy saved, you can fill in the sample file with your data.

Save a copy of the sample file:

  1. File
  2. Download
  3. Microsoft Excel (.xlsx)
  4. Open and edit the file in Microsoft Excel
  5. Or upload the file to Google Drive and edit it in Google Sheets

Editing the sample file

The first row of the file contains the column headers – Name, Lastname, etc. These headers define which data belongs in each column.

Editing the sample file:

  1. Name – Enter the user’s first name in the first column
  2. Lastname – Enter the user’s last name in the second column
  3. Email – Enter the user’s email address in the third column
  4. Course 1 – ID – In the fourth column, enter the ID of the course the user should have access to
  5. If a user has access to multiple courses, enter the additional course IDs in the next columns (Course 2 – ID, Course 3 – ID, etc.). Leave unused columns empty.

If a user needs access to more courses than the file initially allows (the template supports up to 5 courses by default), you can add new columns. In the first row, add a new column header in the format Course number – ID, continuing the numbering sequentially (6, 7, 8, …). Add as many columns as you need.

What is a Course ID

The Course ID is a unique identifier automatically assigned to a course when you create it in the Audienced admin panel. You can find the course ID under Digital products → ID.
You grant a user access to a product by entering the course ID number in the appropriate Course ID column.

Save the file as .csv

Once you’ve entered all the data and the file is ready for import into Audienced, you need to save it as a .csv file.

Save the file as a .csv document:

  1. File
  2. Download
  3. Comma-separated values (.csv)

Upload the file for bulk import

Upload the bulk user import file under Users > Import users > Upload CSV.

A table with users will appear, allowing you to verify the data. Click IMPORT to proceed, or BACK if the data is incorrect.

To confirm the bulk import, type IMPORT USERS into the confirmation field and click Yes, import!.
